Can you remember the first book you ever read out of a certain genre? And no I don't mean young adult or romance. I mean do you remember your first moor trudging, governess heroine, gothic, novel? Okay, okay, you got me. Jane Eyre was the first of it's type I ever read back in the day. It still remains far up in " I love that book! Let me read it again!" list.
There's just nothing better than the first book you ever read of a certain genre. No matter what genre it is. When you find what you love...nothing like it.

I totally agree. My first novel was Little Women. Read it for the first time when I was eight and have revisited it more times than I can count. And even though I can think of several novels that are better written and have more realistic characters, I still LOVE Little Women, and I think I always will. :)
Jane Eyre is a good one too. Though I have to say, Mr. Rochester always weirded me out.
Alcott was my hero when I read her. I loved Jo's Boys. But then...I had a thing for the good Proffessor after the end of Little Women. Book crushes are so weird.
